Garcinia Cambogia is a fruit that is small and is pumpkin-like in shape. It originated in Indonesia, but also grows in India, West and Central Africa, and Southeast Asia. The extract from this fruit is taken from the fruit’s rind and used as a weight loss tool, also known as hydroxycitric acid (HCA).

There are three proven effects of HCA on the body:

First, it suppresses the appetite.

Second, it helps block fat. HCA blocks the enzyme used to store fat from carbohydrates. HCA slows down or stops the process completely.

The third effect of HCA is an increase in the neurotransmitter serotonin, which controls feelings of happiness and elevated moods.

In a recent 8-week research study of 60 obese people, the ones who took HCA lost over 13 pounds, and the ones who did not, lost less than 10 pounds. Both groups followed the same diet.
