Is digestive support important in a weight loss apporach?  The digestive process starts with that first smell of food cooking in the kitchen.  Without proper digestive functions, nutirients from food are not absorbed into the body at a given point in the digestive tract. What this means is, nutrients from foods and supplements that we  ingest, which naturally cause proper body matabolism, are missing or greatly reduced. Thus, fat burning hormones do not function properly, glands that control body weight are off course, and weakness occurs due to lack of nutrition. The appetite does not shut off when it should and the end result is weight gain.

Foods that are good for digestive support are foods high in fiber, water and probiotics. Some of these foods are: Vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, nuts, yogurt.  Many fruits and some vegetables have over 90% water content, such as, melons, citrus fruits, berries, tomatoes, radishes, cucmubers, leafy greens, eggplants and zucchini.

Some supplemnts that are good for digestive support are:  Bile Acid Factors, Digest Gold, Essential Enzymes, Food Enzymes, Proactazyme, PDA.  Get them at ProHealth Nutrition.

Tip:  Take digestive enzymes with each meal to aid in digestion.  Each food type requires a specific enzyme to break it down, so take a general enzyme formula to improve overall digestion, which will help in weight loss.
