Detox 101

Ann's Notes

What is detoxification? It is a normal body process of neutralizing and eliminating toxins, through the liver, kidneys, colon, lungs, lymph, and skin.  When overloaded, these organs and the body suffer. The body surrounds the toxins with excess mucous, scar tissue sometimes tumors, or stored fat.

It can be the missing link to disease prevention as our environment is filled with more and more toxins: pesticides, petroleum products, cosmetics, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, detergents, hair products, medications, air pollution, radiation(Ipads, cell phones), cigarette and other smoke, coal, factories, tap water, dental fillings and treatments.

How they work:

1.                  Liver detox 2 phases .. glutathione…

2.                  Self-digestion - body decomposes, breaks down

3.                  Elimination - colon, kidneys, skin, lungs, hair, nails, sweat

Bowels: fiber, absorbers, stimulators, osmolic flushing

Skin: third kidney body pushes toxins out to the skin from circulatory (blood), muscles. Dry brush, salt baths, sweating, blood purifiers, clay masks, body wraps

Lungs: oxygen in co2 out..deep breathing, exercise, air purifiers
